Opened in January 2011 RED LEAF STUDIO is a dedicated art space offering art classes and workshops to adults and children of all ages. It is also my working studio.

My aim is to encourage people to be creative and get involved in the arts by providing a relaxed and friendly teaching environment.

Bo'ness is within easy reach of Falkirk, South Queensferry, Edinburgh and West Lothian. Visitors will find ample free public parking available very close by on Seaview Place.

I have over 10 years experience working as an art tutor with people of all ages and abilities. As well as organising and teaching my own classes I run classes and workshops for several other organisations including Artlink Central (specialising in working with adults and children with disabilities and mental health issues) and West Lothian Council.

ADULT CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS LISTED BELOW

WEEKLY ART CLASSES @ RED LEAF STUDIO

These classes are suitable for all abilities as I work with participants on an individual basis. As I teach most media and techniques my aim is to help you discover which ones you like to work with and help you develop as an individual.

I hold three adult classes a week at Red Leaf Studio and one in Linlithgow. Times are as follows.

Wednesday 7.30 – 9.30pm

STUDIO WORKSHOPS

Each term I run a series of one off workshops at my studio. These are designed to give a more in-depth lesson in using specific media or techniques. Or sometimes I will concentrate on a particular subject.

Workshops are suitable for all abilities as I always start with a demonstration and then work with individuals to help them get the best from the session.

Tea, coffee and home baking are provided but please bring a packed lunch to the weekday classes which run over lunchtime.

Booking is essential as numbers are limited.

 

 

Sunsets in Pastel

Wednesday 22nd February. 10am-2.30pm. £25 (All materials included.)

This workshop will explore the use of light and colour to create sunsets in pastel. 

 

Working Big in Mixed Media

Sunday 4th March. 1-5pm. £25 (All materials included.)

This workshop is designed to encourage  you to work bigger and gain confidence in tackling larger pieces.

We will use a variety of media throughout the day, starting with some fast paced exercises to get the creativity flowing!

We will then experiment with materials such as ink wash, collage and palette knives. We will mainly be working on A2 paper.

This workshop will give a great opportunity for beginners and more experienced artists to loosen up and work big. You will also get the chance to use and combine media you may not normally think to use. 

 

 

Mosaic Workshop

Sunday 25th March. 1-5pm. £35 (All materials provided.)

This workshop will start with an introduction to the basic techniques of making mosaics. We will then make a small sample piece to practice cutting techniques etc. Whilst doing this we will discuss design options for the larger piece we will make during the second half of the afternoon. (Due to the the drying time of the tile adhesive used in the larger piece it will not be possible to grout them the same day. However you can either take them away with all the grout to complete at home or leave them with me to be completed and then collected at a time that suits you.)

All materials are included and the larger piece will be made using frost proof materials suitable for outdoor use should you want to use it in the garden.
